Matt Weilgus is a SVP, Head of Originations & General Counsel at Mag Mile Capital and is based in Westport, CT.  In this role, Matt is responsible for the oversight of all originations and legal functions for the company, including origination of his own debt and equity placement opportunities nationwide and concentrating on the New York Metropolitan area.

Matt’s extensive background as a counselor and advisor to commercial real estate investors and developers, coupled with his more recent experience accruing a keen sense of the capital markets has yielded tremendous results across the company.  Matt leads our originations team at all stages of a transaction, from client intake, through processing data, marketing an opportunity to capital sources and then through due diligence and closing.

Before joining Mag Mile Capital, Matt was a full-time practicing commercial real estate attorney holding positions at large law firms, as in-house counsel for a publicly-traded REIT and as general counsel for a privately-held family-owned portfolio of industrial and retail assets.

By leveraging his attorney experience and his vast network of borrower clients and lender relationships, Matt delivers exception value to Mag Mile Capital.

Matt resides with his family in Westport, Connecticut.

Matt earned a JD from New York Law School and a BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan.
